The Difrax Bottle Teat Wide Large fits the wide S-bottle 200 and 310 ml. The special coating on the teat provides an extra soft grip. The bottle teat has a soft, round, nipple-shaped teat. With the Difrax bottle teat, breast and bottle feeding can be easily combined.

Small: from 0 months for thin foods such as milk formula (breast milk or with milk powder).

Medium: from 3 months for thin and thickened foods such as milk formula with flour or rice cereal.

Large: from 6 months for thickened and thick foods such as milk formula with flour or rice cereal.

The Difrax Wide bottle teat is available in four sizes: Small (0+ months), Medium (3+ months), Large (6+ months), and XL Porridge (9+ months). Each size has its own flow rate, so the bottle teat matches your baby's age, sucking power, and type of food.

Advice

If you use thick, coarse grain porridge, the special XL porridge teat is suitable.

Which bottle teat do I choose?

The best Difrax teat for you depends on your baby's preferences. Difrax offers three types of teats:

  • NaturalSoft-coated teats for the Natural baby bottle. These narrow, nipple-shaped teats most closely resemble a mother's breast and are therefore the most widely accepted. The soft coating provides extra grip, helping your baby keep the teat in their mouth. The Natural teats fit the Natural S-bottles.
  • DentalTeats for the Natural baby bottle. The Dental teat is suitable for babies with reflux, babies who are prone to choking, babies who drink too quickly, or premature babies. The Dental teat has a flat side, which allows the formula to spread more evenly in the mouth. This prevents choking and allows your baby to control their feeding. The Dental teats fit the Natural S-bottles.
  • WideSoft-coated teats for the Wide baby bottle. These wide teats are best suited for babies who prefer to open their mouths wider. This is also known as a wide-latch preference. The soft coating provides extra grip, helping your baby keep the teat in their mouth more securely. The Wide teat fits the Difrax Anti-Colic Wide S bottles (200 ml and 310 ml).

If you don't yet know your baby's preference, it's best to start with the Natural bottle nipple. This is generally the most well-accepted.

FAQ

From what age can my baby drink from the S-bottle?

From birth, including premature babies. If the size S teat still flows too fast, for example for a premature baby or a baby who chokes easily, try the XS Dosing Teat or the Dental teat.

Which teat size do I need?

Every S-bottle comes with a size S teat, suitable from birth. If it flows too slowly, choose size M from around 3 months and size L from around 6 months. A feed should take your baby around 15 to 20 minutes. Choose a teat that matches your bottle: Natural or Wide.

Can I combine the S-bottle with breastfeeding?

Yes. The S-bottle is ideal for combining breastfeeding and bottle feeding. The ergonomic S-shape ensures a relaxed feeding position and the teat has a soft coating for extra grip. With the S-bottle Natural, you can also express directly into the bottle using the Difrax breast pump.

How do I use the S-bottle?

Before each use, check that all parts are fitted correctly and undamaged. Squeeze the valve a few times to check that the air hole in the centre is open. Fit the teat properly into the ring for a good seal and comfortable drinking.

How do I clean the S-bottle?

Thanks to the screw-off base, the S-bottle comes apart completely and has no narrow or hard-to-clean parts. All parts are dishwasher safe: use the top rack and a 55 °C programme. The parts can also be sterilised. With daily use, replace the teat and the valve every 6 weeks.
