Setting up a campaign? It's all possible at Difrax!
Hi, my name is Anyl! I'm a third-year Creative Business student at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences. I completed a five-month internship at Difrax and gained a lot of experience that I'd like to share with you.
During my internship, I had to complete a "leave behind" requirement as part of my studies. This meant I was working on a large project where I had to implement my own knowledge and strategies. After consulting with my supervisor, we decided I could set up the Difrax cup campaign.
Every year, Difrax holds a cup campaign to increase product awareness. This year, I was fully responsible for the project's activities. Because Difrax has standard tasks for each campaign, in addition to carrying out these tasks, I also conducted research on what Difrax could implement to improve their cup campaign.
The cup campaign
During the cup campaign, I performed a variety of tasks. I was responsible for devising, writing, and executing a social media plan. This involved creating varied and relevant posts that effectively highlighted and represented the beautiful cups. I also created additional visuals to showcase the richness of the products. I worked closely with the design team and occasionally even created visuals myself.
I also collaborated extensively with influencers and brand representatives to reach consumers through their channels. This involved contacting influencers, developing content, and drafting contracts and briefings.
Besides social media, I also performed other tasks within the campaign, such as writing a LinkedIn post, newsletters and blogs, and creating advertisements.
The research
Besides carrying out the standard campaign tasks, my job was to determine how the cup campaign could be improved. To do this, I researched previous Difrax campaigns, examined the competitors, the target audience, and the various strategies. Based on this, I developed a proposal.
The great thing was that I was able to implement this proposal right away. I analyzed the statistics to determine which strategies had been successful and which had not. Based on these conclusions, I developed a plan for the coming years.
To achieve this, I worked closely with my colleagues in the marketing and design departments, but I also had many independent tasks. I was entrusted with a great deal of responsibility, which gave me ample opportunities to utilize my creativity and knowledge.
Much more
Besides the cup campaign, I performed many other tasks, of course. I wrote several blogs, designed flyers and advertisements, and devised contests. I also created visuals, such as photos for contests and videos with professionals. Furthermore, I assisted with a test panel, where Difrax products are tested by a group of test moms.
Because of my French background, I've been heavily involved with French social media channels. This meant creating and creating posts, sending gift packages to pregnant influencers, arranging collaborations, and much more.
Working in the Difrax marketing department is very varied. You'll gain a good understanding of the various tasks within a marketing department and get to participate in many activities. You'll be given a lot of trust and responsibility, so you'll definitely not be sitting still!
Difrax as a company
All these opportunities are great, but what is Difrax like as a company? Besides the job description, it's also important that there's a good atmosphere at your internship. You're definitely in the right place at Difrax. It's a small company with around 35 employees, where everyone works closely together and is treated equally. This creates a close-knit and pleasant atmosphere.
You can drop in on anyone, so if you're curious about what other teams are doing, don't be afraid to stop by! Ask if you can join in or get some explanation. They're definitely open to it!
Difrax is very committed to team building. During my internship, I celebrated many birthdays, went on an Easter egg hunt with the whole team, attended a spring lunch, participated in Monday afternoon drinks, did morning exercises, and chatted endlessly during breaks!
Difrax, something for me?
Are you looking for a creative and varied internship with plenty of opportunities and responsibility, working within a close-knit team? Then Difrax is definitely for you!
