My internship at Difrax - Noortje
Hi, my name is Noortje! I'm a second-year International Business student at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences and have been interning with the Difrax e-commerce team for the past three months. I'd love to share my experiences with you!
A Dynamic Internship Placement
At Difrax, I had the opportunity to delve into various aspects of e-commerce. I learned little about e-commerce at school, let alone how it works in a large company. Despite my nervousness, I was really looking forward to getting started!
My work was varied. I created and optimized blogs for the website, analyzed Difrax product sales from France, and collaborated with the marketing department on a fun contest to generate more reviews. I kept a weekly analysis of these efforts to track progress.
Getting Creative
During my breaks, I loved going outside for a walk. A few minutes' walk would take me to a beautiful piece of forest. Perfect for a bit of relaxation! This provided a fresh start to the afternoon, allowing me to focus on my tasks.
The Difrax Team
My workdays usually started around 8:45 a.m., which worked out well since my training sessions at my rowing club started early in the evening. So, it was easy to combine!
With a joint Difrax team Zoom meeting on Monday morning and several catch-up meetings throughout the week, I really felt part of a close-knit team. This was a perfect way to start the week and set goals together, or share our weekend stories!
I had weekly meetings with my internship supervisor to discuss how things were going, my progress, and new assignments. I could always ask and say anything, which made for a great feeling during the internship!
Looking back on my internship
I look back on my internship at Difrax with great fondness. It flew by! Thanks to this internship, I discovered my passion for e-commerce, and who knows, maybe I'll end up back on the Difrax team!
