From Difrax fan to Difrax intern

Hi everyone! I'm Nova, a fourth-year communication student at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences. For the past four months, I've had the pleasure of working in the marketing department at Difrax. It's been months filled with new experiences, challenges, and fun. I'd love to share this with you!

The start

The first day was a bit of an adventure, as I got to go to a trade show right away! We hopped in the car with Debbie and Nadine and drove to 's-Hertogenbosch. There, I met the intern from the Design department. Although it was a bit nerve-wracking to start off like that, I felt welcomed. This was my first time attending a trade show, so I was amazed!

After this hectic day, I met my other colleagues over the next few days. I received a weekly schedule with introductions to each department. With the two other interns, we visited each department to introduce ourselves and meet everyone. Difrax is a family business, and it shows; it immediately gave me a good feeling.

No day is the same

Working at Difrax is different every day. My tasks ranged from adding new products to existing blogs to creating packages for influencers. This variety made my work more enjoyable and allowed me to learn new skills. Between work shifts, there's plenty of laughter and catching up on my weekend. These moments made me feel more comfortable and part of the team.

In addition to my varied responsibilities, I worked with various departments. This allowed me to meet new people and discover that Difrax is a close-knit team. Everyone enjoys a chat, and if you'd like to experience a different department, there's plenty of opportunity to do so.

Valuation

The great thing about working at a company like Difrax is that I felt valued. I was welcomed with open arms and immediately became part of the marketing team. Together with the other interns, we had a week of introductions. This allowed us to get to know each other well and build a bond. I also immediately bonded with the marketing team and felt comfortable with them. I noticed that I was trusted to complete assignments and contribute my own ideas. This appreciation gave me the feeling that I could continue to grow in this profession. This positive environment has given me more certainty about what my future holds.

Good times

The past few weeks have flown by. My time as an intern at Difrax not only provided me with valuable work experience but also wonderful memories. My internship was a mix of hard work, learning new skills, and having fun. I'm grateful to my supervisors, Debbie and Linda, for ensuring I had a wonderful and educational internship.

But for now, I'm not done studying yet! I'm going back to the books to look for new skills. And especially to explore other areas of my interest. Thanks to everyone at Difrax for this wonderful internship!
