The empowerment of women and girls is an important and powerful theme at Difrax. For this reason, one of the organizations we warmly support is Free a Girl. They free underage girls from sexual exploitation, help these girls reintegrate into society, work to prevent exploitation and defend women’s rights. More information on freeagirl.nl.

Oxfam Novib also builds the empowerment of women by granting them microcredit through the Ondernemers voor Ondernemers (Entrepreneurs for Entrepreneurs) program. With these loans, women can work on building a future for themselves. More information on oxfamnovib.nl.

Millions of girls around the world are unable to go to school because they are married or forced to work at home. Difrax supports Plan International to give these girls a chance for development and a better future. For more information, visit planinternational.nl.

Fier is committed to preventing and ending violence in relationships and offering help to deal with the consequences. Difrax supports Fier by providing physical and online parenting information to the young and expectant mothers Fier cares for. More information at fier.nl.

Women are well-represented in our factories. Almost two-thirds of the employees in our factories are women, and more than half of our management positions are held by women. The Difrax team in the Netherlands is also predominantly female: no less than 80% are women!

  • In the offices of our factories, the ratio of men to women is evenly distributed. There are slightly more women working in production (60%).
  • The age of the female employees in the factories varies. Half of the employees are between 30 and 40 years old. Other age groups over 40-55 are also well represented, with almost 30%.

Vivienne van Eijkelenborg—awarded Businesswoman of the Year in 2016 - is personally committed to supporting female entrepreneurship. By creating awareness and coaching female entrepreneurs, she strives to contribute to this cause. For more information, visit entrepreneursorganization.nl.
