The Difrax Pinky Pacifier has a special suction part with space to place your little finger. It’s ideal for use as an aid to promote the sucking reflex of babies who are premature or newborn (-2M to 2M+) as well as to support the bond between parent and child.

By providing extra firmness with the little finger and manipulating the sucking part, parents can help stimulate their little one’s sucking reflex. Thanks to the Pinky, your baby will learn to suck properly. This makes learning to drink from the breast or bottle easier. The Pinky can also be used as a “normal” pacifier by simply not using the little finger.

The Pinky Pacifier is made from one piece of silicone and has a soft silicone shield and suction part. The familiar butterfly shape frees up the nose while the small shield fits nicely on the face. The holes in the shield provide extra air supply to prevent skin irritation.

Advice: replace the teat every 6 weeks. Pull the sucking section daily to check the teat is undamaged. Is the pacifier damaged? Replace it immediately.

Dynamic, Natural or Dental?

Difrax has three sorts of pacifiers. The Natural, Dental and the Dynamic pacifier. The sucking section of the Natural pacifier and Dynamic pacifier has a flat base, while the end of the silicone sucking section is round and oval. We call this symmetrical. This means that the pacifier is readily accepted, especially by breast-feeding children. The pacifier is also suitable for children who like to rotate the pacifier in their mouth. This pacifier is exactly the same each way up.

Dental
The teat on the Difrax Dental pacifier also has a flat base and the end of the teat has one flat side that provides the tongue with a better grip when sucking. The Dental pacifier stimulates the development of the palate and the tongue and jaw muscles. The rounded part of the teat lies against the palate, and the flat part presses on the tongue. Good for children who need this, or for those who reject the Natural pacifier shape.

Dynamic and Natural
The Dynamic pacifier has an oval end, just like the Difrax Natural pacifier. What makes the Dynamic pacifier different is the material, which consists of different silicone layers with small silicone balls on top. The mobility of the silicone layers promotes your baby’s natural sucking rhythm. The silicone balls on the sucking part imitate the mother’s nipple, which is why the Dynamic pacifier is perfect for breast-fed children.

Every child has their own pacifier preference, and all three types are equally responsible. Depending on what your child prefers you can use either a Natural, Dental or the Dynamic pacifier. Unsure what your child prefers? We then advise choosing the Natural or Dynamic variant in the first instance.

How do you stimulate the sucking reflex?

A baby’s sucking reflex is stimulated as soon as something is felt against the (back part of the) palate. Do this safely with the help of a special pacifier. Difrax developed the Pinky Pacifier in collaboration with professionals for this purpose. The unique thing about the Difrax Pinky Pacifier is that it has a finger-shaped suction part in which you can place your little finger.

The suction part is long enough to reach the back of the palate. The sucking part can be manipulated with the little finger to give it a little extra firmness. This helps your baby initiate the sucking reflex.

Which pacifier should I use after the Pinky Pacifier?

The Pinky Pacifier is suitable for (premature) babies aged -2M to 2M+. Are you looking for a successor to the Pinky? The Difrax Silicone pacifier is a good alternative. This natural pacifier with oval suction part, just like the Pinky, is made from one piece of 100% silicone. You can also switch to one of the other safe pacifiers from Difrax.
