Difrax bottle teats come in different sizes. The size refers to the size of the hole in the teat. The right size depends on your baby's sucking strength and the type of feeding you're using. Thicker formula and stronger suction require a larger teat. Your baby should take about 15-20 minutes to feed. If this is the case, you're probably using the right size.

• 1-2-3 XS dosing teatDifrax has developed a 1-2-3 XS bottle teat specifically for babies who are too young for the Small size, and for premature babies. What's special about this teat is that it has three different slow-flow settings. This means there are three different slow-flow speeds, known as XXS, XS, and Small.
• Size SSuitable from birth (0 months). Suitable for thin formulas, such as breastfeeding or bottle feeding. Difrax baby bottles come with a size S teat as standard. Available in Dental, Natural, and Wide versions.
• If the Natural or Wide size S teat is too fast for your baby, you can try the Dental teat. This is specially designed for babies who are prone to choking or have reflux.
• Size MSuitable for use from approximately 3 months or if size S is too slow. Suitable for thin and thickened foods, such as those thickened with locust bean gum, flour, or rice porridge. Available in Natural and Wide varieties.
• Size LSuitable for use from about 6 months or if size M is too slow. Suitable for thickened and thick foods, such as those thickened with locust bean gum, flour, or rice porridge. Available in Natural and Wide varieties.
• Size XL PacifierFor coarse grain porridge, suitable for use from approximately 9 months. Only available as a Wide variety.
• 1-2-3 dosing teat: Can be used from approximately 3 months. Suitable for thin and thicker food. Setting 1 is for thin food, the size of the hole is between size S and M. Setting 2 is for (slightly) thickened food, the hole is between size M and L. Setting 3 is for thickened and thick food, the size is between size L and XL. The setting can be adjusted for each feeding. The Difrax 1-2-3 bottle teat can only be used in combination with the Difrax 1-2-3 ring. Available in Natural and Wide versions.

The best Difrax teat for you depends on your baby's preferences. Difrax offers three types of teats:

• NaturalSoft-coated teats for the Natural baby bottle. These narrow, nipple-shaped teats most closely resemble a mother's breast and are therefore the most widely accepted. The soft coating provides extra grip, helping your baby keep the teat in their mouth. The Natural teats fit the Natural S-bottles.
• DentalTeats for the Natural baby bottle. The Dental teat is suitable for babies with reflux, babies who are prone to choking, babies who drink too quickly, or premature babies. The Dental teat has a flat side, which allows the formula to spread more evenly in the mouth. This prevents choking and allows your baby to control their feeding. The Dental teats fit the Natural S-bottles.
• WideSoft-coated teats for the Wide baby bottle. These wide teats are best suited for babies who prefer to open their mouths wider. This is also known as a wide-latch preference. The soft coating provides extra grip, helping your baby keep the teat in their mouth more securely. The Wide teat fits the Difrax Anti-Colic Wide S bottles (200 ml and 310 ml).

If you don't yet know your baby's preference, it's best to start with the Natural bottle nipple. This is generally the most well-accepted.
